I killed two black bears with Maniacs this spring. Neither bear made it 45 yards.
Not a lot of blood trail but the bears did not go far. Bears don't bleed good any way.
I shoot a couple differnt style broadheads at my 3D targets and the Maniacs are as good as any of the other brands.
I'm sure for deer Maniacs are the cats meow.

Awesome broadhead-quality, durability, and accuracy. Most impressive is how it flies and how accurate it is right out of the package. Sware to you-shot exactly where my field tips did right out of the package-did not have to tune one bit. And I tested it out to 60 yards.
I like their expandables too-especially for turkey! (Posted on 4/16/09)
The most important aspect of A broadhead is accuracy and this head is THAT!, Accurate!! I shoot fingers and alluminum. My release is not that great it takes an almost perfect broadhead to get field point accuracy and that is what I get with the Maniac. My first Kill with the maniac was A wyoming antelope that only went 40 yards and piled up! On A hard quartering angle the head took out two ribs going in and one coming out and everything in between. Out of A 54 lb bow and light arrows it was all I could ask for!

i had the opportunity to shoot my first maniac through a deer a couple weeks ago and let me tell ya, their for real. the accuracy right out of the pack is "dead on." i shot 3 heads and never had to move a pin nor did any of the three fly crazy. anyway back to the doe i shot with it, as soon as the thing touched her, blood spewed out of her like a hole in a water hose. she only went about 40 or so and piled up. when i got to her there was blood everywhere around her and all the way up covering her head. i've never seen a deer bleed like this. i double lunged her and you would have thought i hit a main artery. aftershock has come up with the ultimate head in my book and i've shot many others, but these do everything the company says they'll do, believe it.
